Benzamidines in cyclocondensation with hexaf luoroacetone

The reactions of hexafluoroacetone and methyl trifluoropyruvate acyl- and ethoxycarbonylimines with benzamidines afford fluoro-containing heterocycles of four structural types:
dihydrotriazines, dihydrotriazinones, imidazoles, and imidazooxazoles.
