An intercalation compound of molybdenum disulfide with the copper complex
CuII(phen)2Cl+ was found to form by the interaction of the MoS2 singlelayer dispersions with the complex and by the treatment of the phenanthroline intercalation compound with CuCl2. The compositions and structures of the compounds formed were determined by powder diffractometry and electron microscopy.
